This week, we managed to win three large international awards! The Good Design Award 2008 - the most prestigious design award of Japan - and the Deshima Award for the most successful Dutch product introduction in Japan.

Additionally, we won the Design Management Europe award. The jury awarded us for our "excellent implementation of design in our strategy and operations and translating this to a commercial success story". Wow!

The SENZ XL storm umbrella has won the most coveted design award of the USA, just two months after its introduction last May. Besides SENZ, Apple's iPhone was also one of the big winners out of a group of 1517 contesting products. The jury was impressed by our largest SENZ umbrella: "Besides being gorgeous, this product is brilliantly conceived, surprising and satisfying in function. This product is a vast improvement on its predecessors."

Today we're introducing the biggest brother of the SENZ family, the SENZ XL! Just like the SENZ Original, the XL does not invert and easily goes up to 100 km/h gales, as can be seen on the legendary video of Gerwin in the wind tunnel!

De SENZ XL has been designed for the visionary golfer. The unique SENZ shape provides a perfect view to see the ball flight of your golf partner, while using the XL umbrella requires minimum strength!

Although our SENZ Mini was already a great foldable umbrella, we always aim to improve our products. Thanks to the input of all the great SENZ users and ambassadors, we just introduced a new and improved SENZ Mini! The main improvement is a thicker shaft. So check it out, take your new SENZ Mini outside and enjoy the weather!

The press conference in New York City was a blast and a great success as well, a lot of media were present! And we must say it's really cool to meet Rihanna. From now on the States will be our new ‘playing ground' and we will try to make it as successful as we can together with the Totes family!

Our SENZ Original storm umbrella made it to the finals of the annual BUZZ Award, the award for the most talked about and recommended product of 2007!! The other 2 finalists in our category are the Philips Wake-up Light and the Tuk Tuk taxi’s! On January 15 we will know if we are the successors of the iPod (2005) and diet guru Sonja Bakker (2006)!

Whether we’ll win or not, we think it’s amazing to be in the finals anyway. Therefore, we would like to sincerely thank all you `buzzers’ for your buzzing of our umbrellas! And now, fingers crossed!

In some countries, copyright gets easily confused with ‘right to copy'. Fortunately , that's not the case over here in Holland! A Dutch umbrella distributor tried to copy our SENZ storm umbrella, but today the judge proved them wrong. We're happy to put this behind us, so we can go back to our passion designing amazing, innovative umbrellas for you!

US based TIME Magazine nominated our SENZ storm umbrella for ‘best invention of 2007'! We were selected for the annual list out of thousands of products.
