You're probably familiar with the struggles lots of people experience with traditional umbrellas every day. Such crappy umbrellas have simply been designed for the garbage can and you´ll usually find them back on the streets as waste after a rainy and windy day. It's a pain, but you still need a decent umbrella to keep you dry.
When we decided, out of pure frustration, to develop the ultimate umbrella we discovered that the traditional umbrella hasn't been improved or changed for more than 3000 years! We decided to wake up the world by introducing our senz° storm-proof umbrellas. These instructions are to help you enjoy the rain with your own senz° umbrella.
How do I open/close my senz°?
Open the senz° with its long side down en make sure that with extreme weather, the short side is held against the wind. When you want to fold up your senz° and its stormy outside, turn your back against the wind before closing the umbrella. The best way to close your senz° is to turn the short side to the wind and then close it, seeing the short ribs can take more pressure than the long ribs.

To open your senz°, you don't have to push the button on the runner (the moving part). The button is only meant for closing the senz°.
senz° mini ao
Your senz° mini ao has an automatic opening mechanism. With a simple push of the button, you will be protected against all weather influences. Your mini ao has a steel shaft, which is even stronger than the aluminium shaft of the senz° mini.
senz° original and senz° xl
To open your senz° you don't have to push a button. The button is only meant for closing the umbrella. To open your senz° you simply click the two handle parts together by pulling down the upper part. When you close your senz° in stormy weather, just turn your back to the wind for the most comfortable use.
senz° smart
Your senz° smart has a plastic open/close mechanism. To open your smart you just pull the plastic runner downwards and to close the smart you push the closing button.
How do I hold my senz°?
Open your senz° with the long side down and make sure that the short side faces the wind in extreme winds. When it's stormy outside and the wind hits the canopy from below, don't pull your umbrella back with force, as this can potentially damage the construction of the shaft. It is important to use your senz° with the short side facing the wind. When the winds is coming from the back, lay the umbrella on your shoulder, as shown on the picture.
It's important to hold your senz° loosely in one hand, which is very counterintuitive when you're used to a traditional round umbrella which you tend to hold very tightly . Your senz° umbrella has an aerodynamic design which needs space to find the most comfortable position in the wind. We have tested our products with care and found that your senz° can even get damaged when you hold it too firmly with two hands.

How do I fold my senz°?
Our products should be folded differently from the traditional umbrella. We´re happy to explain you how to do this:
- Make sure the label of the canopy is on top so you get a flap on both sides.
- Fold the flaps over each other away from the label. (the flap with the velcro strap on top)
- Roll the velcro strap around your senz° and put your umbrella in its sleeve.
How do I keep my senz° in good shape?
When you're comfortably inside after you and your senz° have conquered the storm, the best way to dry your senz° is to leave it open on the floor. This is the best way for the canopy to dry.
You can clean your senz° with water, preferably without using any cleaning products or soap. An easy way to do this is in the tub or shower.
Always keep your senz° in its sleeve when you don't need it, especially in your bag. When your senz° is not in its sleeve, there´s an increased chance of damaging the canopy or other parts. Please put your senz° in its sleeve when the canopy is dry.
The elastic cord on the handle is meant for your wrist so that your senz° doesn't fly away with strong wind. When you use the elastic cord to hang your senz° umbrella, the elastic could stretch after a while.
Although the senz° xl may tempt you to use it as a walking stick, it's not designed for that purpose. We definitely would not recommend this because there's a chance of damaging or losing the top cap of your senz° xl.
Your senz° loves to sunbathe and even provides UV protection. Therefore, you can use all models from our senz° original line as a parasol in bright sunshine to prevent a sunburn. Please note that the colour of the canopy can fade a bit in bright sunshine. We also recommend you to always use some kind of sunscreen while enjoying the sun! Your senz° from the smart line doesn't have the UV coating.
